But that doesn’t mean you can’t do more to save the planet. Here are three ways you can conserve water at your Stafford apartment.
  • Turn the Faucet Off When Brushing Your Teeth: Many people leave the faucet running when they brush their teeth. Unfortunately, this habit can waste up to four gallons of water every time you brush your teeth, so next time, turn off the faucet. This can save 2,880 gallons of water annually.
  • Install a Low-Flow Showerhead: Showers waste quite a bit of water. But since you can’t skip a shower, installing a low-flow showerhead can cut the amount of water wasted in half. This can save about 4,550 gallons of water a year. It also has the added benefit of conserving energy because your water heater won’t have to heat as much water.
  • Use a Refillable Water Bottle: Buying water in plastic bottles is very wasteful. It takes seven liters of water to fill a one liter plastic bottle. If you refill your own, you can save up to 577 gallons of water each year.
